Hospice...  top

Choosing a provider for hospice services is a very important decision.  You want to ensure that you and your loved one are cared for both professionally and compassionately.  Tennessee Quality promises just that.  Since 1989, our experienced staff has cared for hospice patients in the area.  Tennessee Quality provides a special way of caring for individuals who are in the final stages of a terminal illness.  When life expectancy is six months or less, our focus of care shifts from cure to comfort, emphasizing the quality of life.  Hospice neither hastens or postpones death, but rather affirms life, emphasizing dignity and enhancing the quality of the remainder of a person's life.

Hospice Team

Hospice Services are provided by an interdisciplinary team of professionals and volunteers, offering support based on their areas of expertise.  Together, they provide comprehensive palliative care aimed at relieving symptoms and pain while giving social, emotional and spiritual support.

The patient's physician and the hospice team develop a care plan which is appropriate to meet the patient's and their family needs.

The hospice team includes:

Our hospice professionals are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to help the family in caring for the patient and keeping the patient comfortable and free of pain.

Health Insurance Plans

Medicare, Tenncare, Blue Cross and many other health insurance plans offer special hospice benefits.  Tennessee Quality also works with other insurers to provide hospice services.  Most insurance coverage follows the pattern of Medicare and its hospice benefit.  Patients and families who have some other health insurance plan should discuss coverage with their physician, insurance company or a hospice representative.  Our staff offers assistance to help patients and their families determine covered services and file the necessary paperwork prior to a hospice admission.
